The Gib'Sea 51 is
the flagship of the Dufour Family cruising line. Created for the charter
market, the Gib'Sea 51 offers the best of all
the Gib'Sea line of innovative and sensible design implementations. The standard
cabin layout boasts five cabins. Two doubles astern, two doubles just forward
amidships and the separate crew quarters in the forward bow area with separate
water closet accessible by bow deck hatch. The two amidships cabins have
their own water closets and can convert from over-and-under bunks to a double
in minutes. The galley and salon are opposite amidships and facilitate meal
preparation and serving to a dinette which can seat ten people. The separate
navigation station is just aft of the galley to port and features 12v and
220v panels and instrumentation. This is a well thought out floor plan with
room for socializing and accommodating large groups. On deck the Gib'Sea
51 cockpit is the focal point of the boat. The twin wheel design, low coaming,
and pass-thru transom all combine into a functional and comfortable area
of the boat. Wide side decks and the "Dolphin Nose" assist in anchoring
and setting a spinnaker or gennaker (depicted above).
